The HiRho CCD group is developing next generation
CCDs that will achieve full quantum efficiency to 1 micron without fringing.
In addition, these CCDs will be fabricated without thinning and will utilize
inexpensive conventional MOS processing. These thick CCDs will be made
on a high resistivity n-type substrate and will operate fully depleted
with rear illumination.
